越南·广西旅遊 第九天 08/03/2008 星期六 感言(英文)

7 am morning call.We had breakfast at 7.30am.Half an hour later,we were on our own---strolling around Hanoi before noon, after which we would depart for home.
This trip has no doubt opened my eyes as to the many facets of life, both here in Hanoi and in Guangxi China. However I would like to stay longer,to know better.A week`s observation is not enough. We just managed to get a glimpse of the kadeleiscope..

Of the hundreds of photographs I had taken,I shall save them for dear memory,as the short notes that I jotted down at every turn of the tour.Sometimes it is not the scenes,or scenery that matters. What is more important, and what I cherish more,is the fleeting thoughts and feelings, and emotions. The short notes I had written down would be rewritten, and together with the photos ,offer a storage of feelings/emotions to be kept down Memory Lane.In the past much treasurable record lapsed into oblivion as it had not been properly kept. I shall avoid such mistake, and let proper record be stored, for me,or my dear ones,to reminiscene.

There is a stark difference between what I observed in Vietnam and in China. I am not refering to the scales,or the stages of development, but rather the attitude or disposition of the people. One example to quote is the efficency of the immigration officers I encountered. Then there is the lack of confidence of the Vietnamese. It is a historical fact that Vietnam had been ruled by China, but the Vietnamese are very hostile and reluctant to accept this  fact. In the Hanoi 孔庙 (Temple of Confucius),they even defaced the stone monumenets erected by Ming Dynasty Emperors just to hide this fact.

This trip just cost us RM 1888 per head, and the fee is all inclusive of fare, lodging ,tour guides and meals.I wonder how can they make a profit?
